Welcome to Stratford High School! The Stratford High School (SHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is here to make your transition as smooth as possible. Continue reading to find out how to get engaged with our Stratford community.

 

PTSA Newcomers Resource Guide - This is a great comprehensive guide to information about SHS and the PTSA.

 

Have a question about Stratford, the PTSA or anything else?  Visit the Ask the PTSA page on the PTSA website.  It's a blog style page to ask any question you have that will then be submitted to the executive PTSA board to answer and respond quickly!

COMMUNICATION

Communication is the key to being informed and a part of Stratford America.  

 

 The Spartan Scoop - Published every Tuesday during the school year.   If you are a PTSA member you will receive the Spartan Scoop!  Need to submit an article for publication?  Click here to submit a Communication Request.

 

Skyward (Family Access) - This is SBISD’s password-protected site that provides both parents, and students access to course grades, homework, attendance, and other data. You can gain access to Skyward by visiting the SHS Main Office.  The link to Skyward can be found at the “Family Access” link on the home page of the SHS website or https://www.springbranchisd.com/studentsfamilies/family-accessskyward.

 

Weekly Emails - Make sure you are receiving weekly emails from SHS Principal Mr. Barnes.  

 

Directory - The SHS PTSA directory is entirely online via the PTSA website! We are no longer offering printed directories.  Be on the lookout this summer for information to join the PTSA via the  Big Form which will give you options to add, update, and/or add your student's information in the directory as well as information for accessing the directory.  Please include your student’s cell phone number so he/she can be contacted for school-related projects.

GET INVOLVED!

Join the Stratford High School PTSA

SHS PTSA supports the entire student body and staff of SHS. Look for the Big Form and join PTSA and support Stratford America.  Through financial contributions and volunteer efforts, SHS PTSA provide items and experiences that enhance the educational experience of all SHS students and help them to succeed.  

The PTSA "Big Form" & Directory

The "Big Form" is out now and combines all Back to School Forms.  New this year is the all in one button, Go Big Go Green Go Stratford!  For $500 this option includes PTSA membership, directory access and donations.  You will also have the option to be represented on the PTSA website and a banner.   Additionally there is the traditional Big Form which allows you to join the PTSA, become a Sparta Supporter, purchase access to our Online Student Directory, and donate to our Scholarship and Teacher Appreciation funds. The Big Form is available on the PTSA website at stratfordptsa.com beginning August 2023.

 

Register to VolunteerAll volunteers must register with SBISD each year.  The volunteer application can be found here.  Need more information?  Contact SBISD Community Relations at 713.251.2468 or partner@springbranchisd.com.

 

Grade Level - Class Leaders/Coordinators

Each class at SHS has its own Grade Level Principal. Contact information for these administrators can be found on the SHS website at https://ssh.springbranchisd.com/.

The SHS Counselors are split by alpha order.  Visit our SHS Counselors website for valuable information at https://ssh.springbranchisd.com/counseling.

 

Each class also has two parents who serve as Peer Group Coordinators who help ensure that parents receive the information necessary for their child’s grade level. Contact information for the Peer Group Coordinators can be found on the PTSA website.

Spartan Gear - Stratford has many ways to show your school spirit!  There are lots of clubs that sell specific items to benefit their group.  Visit Spartan Gear to see a list and links to order your favorite Stratford item!

SHS Handbook Addendum

Stratford High School has an addendum to the SBSID Handbook. This addendum sets out important information including: Absence policy, Academic Honesty Policy, All Bell Schedules, Dress Code, Electronic Devices Policy, Exam Exemption Policy, Make-Up Work Policy, Re-test Policy, Tardy Sweep.

Canvas (formerly used ItsLearning) 

Canvas is the District’s learning management system (LMS). Canvas provides parents improved real-time access to student’s courses and enhanced teaching and learning for students. Naviance

Naviance is a college and career management system designed to help students discover their strengths and match strengths to careers and personality.  Naviance is also a college application management system that allows students to research and compare colleges, search for scholarship and upload transcripts and letters of recommendations used during the application process. https://student.naviance.com/stratfordhs

 

Communities in Schools (CIS)/Wellness Counselor

SHS is fortunate to have a full-time Communities in Schools (CIS) social service provider on campus to deliver a variety of programming and provide referrals to other agencies as needed. Our CIS-Wellness counselor is Melody Hall. Her office is located in the clinic. Whether it is eye glasses, tutoring, a safe place to live, or just someone to talk to, our CIS Wellness Counselor is there to help. The Wellness Counselor provide supportive guidance and counseling to students in need of additional support in individual or group settings.
